The Medicare world can be complicated. We at IAMGroup attempt to simplify it as much as possible for our clients.
Medicare Part A & B is called Original Medicare. Part C or Medicare Advantage plans are required to provide all the benefits of Original Medicare and often includes Part D (Prescription Drug Plan)
If you prefer to keep Original Medicare, it would be prudent of you to purchase a Prescription Drug Plan; otherwise you will incur a penalty for each month you go without a plan.
Medicare Advantage Plan, Part C, can be offered only to clients who currently have Medicare Parts A and B that were obtained through the Federal Government. Part C replaces and covers all of the Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) services.
Medicare Part D provides Prescription Drug Coverage. Part D can be bought separately, if you are currently on Medicare Parts A and B, or as part of a Medicare Advantage Plan.
If you are turning 65 or you are retiring and losing employee healthcare coverage, we can help!
When your Original Medicare begins, you have the option to sign up for a Medicare Advantage Plan or purchase a Medicare Supplement Plan and a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan in conjunction with your Original Medicare.
Either way, without a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan you may face a lifetime penalty.
